This is what He says in all His
letters when He writes on the subject.
There are some difficult things in His letters which ignorant and
unstable people explain falsely as they do with other passages of the
Scriptures. So they bring on their own
destruction. (2Peter 3:16)
There are people who formed their
own church basing their own theories of salvation. The Holy Bible is one of the ways to know God
more and His promised of salvation to mankind.
Some people devoted their lives reading and interpret with their own
with everything written in the Bible.
These made them form their own church.
That's why today, there are about 400 sects formed. There are so many churches because there are
so much different interpretation of the Bible; there are so much interpretation
of the Bible because there are so many wrong interpretation of the Bible; and
there are so much wrong interpretation of the Bible because the system of
interpreting it is radically wrong. Besides, many sects rely only on the Bible;
not knowing the Bible itself reveals it is not complete. In his disciples'
presence Jesus performed other miracles, which are not written down in this
book. (Juan 20:30): Now, there are many other things that Jesus did. If they were all written down one by one, I
suppose that the whole world could not hold the books that would be written.
(John 21:25)
Few people believe that whatever
religion or sect one belonged, it's the same.
I would rather say NO. God shall baptize you through His church. If you
will disregard religion or church, why did Christ descend from heaven? And what's the use of Christ's formation of
His church through Peter? Was it true that there are many religions present before
Christ that made Him formed His? And if you said all sects are the same, why do
they differ with their doctrines? If you
will obey all these sects, you would even lost your way and even your mind. There
is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism (Ephesians 4:5)
So we must know that God formed
only one religion, and what's that religion? It's the religion that God only
and not any other people have founded.
He was the founder so all of the teachings should be from Him.
So are there ways to be
saved? Yes there are ways. How? By Jesus teachings through His church. He also
was the founder.
To whom He left His
church? To His apostle, Peter. And so I tell you Peter: you are a rock, and
on this rock foundation I will build my church, and not even death will ever be
able to overcome it. I will give you the
keys of the Kingdom of heaven: what you prohibited on earth will be prohibited
in heaven and what you permit on
earth will be permitted in heaven. (Matthew 16:l8). . Go then, to all peoples
everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize then in the name of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age. (Mt 28-19)
So the above-mentioned
are the disciples because Jesus transferred them His power.
How was this
transferred? By laying their hands (1Tim 4)
The Church is the new
People of God, composed of all baptized persons united in the same faith, the
same sacrifice and the same sacrament.
The Lord's
Church of
course is founded by the Lord Jesus Christ himself on Pentecost to bring all
men to eternal salvation by the help of the Holy Spirit as the source of
Church's life. The Lord's Church existed long before any of the New Testament
books were written. So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the
message comes through preaching Christ. (Ro 10-17)
The Lord's Church has marks or
clear signs by which all men can recognize this church as the true church.
The chief marks of the church are:
1. Lord's church is ONE-because
all the members according to the will of
Christ, profess the same faith,
same sacrifice and same sacraments.
2. Lord's church is HOLY-because
its founder is holy, Jesus Christ.
2. Lord's church is CATHOLIC or
UNIVERSAL-because destined to last forever
She never fails to fulfill the
divine commandment to teach all nations all the truths revealed by God.
3. Lord's church is APOSTOLIC-because
it was founded by Christ on the Apostles
and in accordance with His divine will has always be governed by their lawful
successors.
There are also attributes of True
Church and they are:
1. By the
authority of the true church-is meant that the Pope and the Bishops, as
lawful successors of the Apostles have power from Christ himself, as head of
the church, to teach, to sanctify and to govern the faithful in spiritual
matters.
2. By the
infallibility of the Lord's Church-means by the special assistance of the
Holy Spirit, cannot err when she teaches or believes a doctrine of faith and
morals.
4. Indefectibility of the Lord's church-means that
the church as an institution founded by Christ will last forever.
Consider these facts:
Martin Luther founded the Lutherans
in 15l7.
If you belong to Church of England,
King Henry VIII founded your religion in the year 1534 because the POPE would
not grant him a divorce with the right to remarry.
If you are a Presbyterian,
John Knox in Scotland founded your
religion in the year 1560.
If you are a Baptist-
John Smith launched it in Amsterdam in 1606.
If
you are a Methodist-your religion was launched by John and Charles Wesley in
England in 1744.
If you are a Mormon
(Church of Latter Day Saints)- Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmary,
NY in 1829.
If you are a member of "Iglesia
ni Cristo"-your religion started in 1914 at Punta Sta. Ana Manila
with Felix Manalo Ysagun as your founder.
Jehovah's Witness started in 1931 from Russellites
formed by Charles Taze Russell.
If you belong to the ROMAN
CATHOLIC CHURCH, your church dated back to 33 AD with no other than
JESUS CHRIST as your founder, THE CHURCH JESUS
HAS PROMISED TO BE WITH, UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD! (Matthew 28-19)
